COMMON MISTAKES AMONG BELIEVERS (PART THREE) THE WILL OF GOD

´´After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.``
                                                            Matthew 6:9-13

We often pray for the will of God to be done in our lives without even knowing what God´s will is. I have been in prayer sessions where i prayed for several hours for the will of God to be done in my life. Yes, during that time i was told that Christ taught us to pray the will of God to be done and that is what we must follow. Yes, this is true as the scripture above stipulates. However, i have come to realise that many believers,of which i was part, pray for the will of God always without even knowing what His will is.

God´s will for us is not a mystery to be uncovered. His will is very clear to us in every aspect of life. Let us look at this scenario before i dive into this topic deeply.

A man made a will and distributed all his assets among his three children. To one, he gave all his estates, to another he gave his entire businesses. He gave his entire foreign accounts and investments to his last born. After his death , the lawyer gave copies of the will to the children for them to know their assets. The first two read their will, word for word, and began enjoying all that were given them. However, the last born was very lazy and decided just to ignore knowing what was left. He was only privy to the investments he heard from his father when he was alive. However, he never enjoyed the chunk of wealth that were sitting in banks he had no idea of.
Ignorance made the youngest among them unable to know what he was rightly entitled to. He settled on average because he did not know what was in the will. This is what numerous believers are doing. They only rely on what they have been told, but never do they know the details for themselves. They depend on what they hear from others, but never read the will for themselves. Having knowledge of what you have makes you powerful.

``These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. ´´ Acts 17:11

The WILL of God is never a mystery. God´s will is the WORD He has given us. Everything about life that we need is written down in His word. When Christ said, thy will be done, He knew what He was talking about.

´´..Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…´´
Jesus Christ was saying, ´´Father, let whatever you told me before the foundations of the world be done as you have purposed.`` Your prayer life will change if you know what is in heaven. There is no poverty, neither is there sickness in heaven. There is no economic crunch to affect finances. That is the perfect will from creation.
When He said,
´´O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.``
  Matthew 26:39
What He meant was that, ´´Father, let me avoid these sufferings if possible. However, that is not what is written. Therefore let what you have written concerning my destiny come to pass.`` Jesus Christ knew that His prayers will be unanswered if they are outside the will of God and he corrected Himself. He understood that praying for things just to satisfy your lust will never be answered.
´´Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.´´´ James 4:3
God has written everything about our lives in the WORD, that is the BIBLE. That is the will I am talking about. Believers end up not knowing the will because we are lazy to read it and know what we are entitled to. The fact that you go around saying you have the will in your hands does not give you the knowledge about it. If we know this, we will not just be praying for the ´WILL of GOD` for hours. We will rather pray what the will is.
If it is about good health, this is what His will says about it :
´´Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperity.'' 3 John 1:2
´´Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. ´´ Jeremiah 33:6
´´But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ‘'  Isaiah 53:5
If you want to pray for the will of God concerning your finances, don´t just pray saying,´´Lord, let your will be done in my finances.`` You must know what His will is concerning finances and pray that will out.
´´But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ‘' Philippians 4:19
´´Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.''

 Luke 6:38

Every will of god has conditions attached to it. You can never be financially blessed if you don´t follow the rules governing the will of financial blessings. You can never withdraw your father´s money at the age of sixteen, if there is a clause that states that you are legitimately entitled to it after your eighteenth birthday.

Believers should desist from just praying this way,
``Lord, let your will be done in my life, let your will be done in my marriage…etc``You need to know the will of God concerning our marriage, health, finances, future etc and pray them out. Just saying, ´let your will be done` is like praying, ``Father, i am sick. Let your will be done in my sickness.``What is His will for you when you are sick? Know that and pray that out.

Many believers are not receiving answers because they are praying amiss. They spend hours praying for a miracle without praying the right prayers.

God will never do anything outside His word. His word is powerful and that is His will. His word is himself . He created everything by the word. He is bound by his word. Therefore, when we pray His word, there is nothing to stop us from receiving answers. THIS WORD IS HIS WILL.

´´For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.´´
Isaiah 55:10-11
You cannot give out what you don’t have. Your potency of your words in prayer depends on the fullness of His WORD in you.A lot of believers are in Christ, but still embrace failure, depression, diseases, curses etc, all because they don´t have the word in them.
´´If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.``    John 15:7
To abide in Christ is one thing and to have His words in you is another. You will only receive what you ask if you know that what you are asking is written in his will. Knowing what his WILL is and praying it out makes your prayer fervent and effectual. I pray we desist from just repeating, ´thy will be done oh Lord`, and get to know His will, read His will, pray His will and see His will manifesting in our lives.
